The problem
Most Nigerian SMEs run people-ops out of WhatsApp groups and Excel sheets — announcements get buried, org charts live in someone's head, and weekly reporting is a manual chase. WorkClan started as a way to give small teams a single, lightweight source of truth.
The Solution
Most Nigerian SMEs run people-ops out of WhatsApp groups and Excel sheets — announcements get buried, org charts live in someone's head, and weekly reporting is a manual chase. WorkClan started as a way to give small teams a single, lightweight source of truth.
Key decisions
Supabase over a custom backend to move fast on auth, Postgres, and real-time subscriptions. Free-for-SMEs to lower the barrier. Multi-tenant isolation enforced with Postgres Row Level Security policies scoped to workspace ID.
AI-assisted workflow
Used Claude and Cursor throughout — from scaffolding RLS policies and API routes to pressure-testing edge cases in the auth flow, with every suggestion reviewed by hand.
